Stanko Semič, also known by his partisan name Daki, was a prominent Slovene partisan officer, Spanish civil war fighter, museum curator, and writer. He was born on November 13, 1915, in the Bloška planota region and passed away on September 3, 1985, in Ljubljana. Semič was the first Slovene to receive the Order of National Hero and served as the director of the Museum of National Liberation from 1953 to 1959. In 1971, he published his memoirs titled 'Najboljši so padli'.
