Conrad Stanton Babcock Jr. (1904-1979) was a Major General in the United States Army, known for his service as the commander of the 2nd Armored Division. Born into a military family, he graduated from West Point, served in various cavalry units, and became an accomplished equestrian, competing in the 1936 Olympics. Babcock was a military attache in Tokyo at the war's outset and was captured by Japan, later serving in WWII. Post-war, he was involved in peace negotiations and held several high-ranking positions, including being Chief Military Assistance Advisory Group in France, before retiring in 1961.
