Stavros Dailakis was a Greek politician born on February 7, 1955, in Doxato. He studied at the Thessaloniki Economic School and worked at the Commercial Bank of Greece from 1981 to 1985 before moving to the Bank of Crete. Dailakis served as mayor of Doxato in 1987 and from 1990 to 1994. He was a member of the New Democracy party and was first elected to the Hellenic Parliament in 2000, serving multiple terms. He became Deputy Speaker of Parliament in September 2007 and later became an independent politician after criticizing the government. He passed away on June 24, 2021, at the age of 66.
