Stefan Mich, also known by various aliases including Kmita, Okoń, Jeż, Stefan Barszczewski, and Jan Lipowiecki, was a Polish military officer born on December 7, 1913, in Blizocin. He served as a major in the Polish Army and was a member of the Home Army (AK) as well as a paratrooper, known as a cichociemny. He participated in the Warsaw Uprising as one of the commanders of the 'Koszta' company in the downtown area. Mich was fluent in several languages including German, Russian, English, and French.
