Stefano Zacchiroli is an Italian computer scientist born on March 16, 1979. He became the leader of the Debian project in April 2010, succeeding Steve McIntyre. Zacchiroli began his involvement with Debian in March 2001 and became more active in the community after attending LinuxTag in 2004. He earned a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Bologna in 2007 and later moved to the University of Paris Diderot for post-doctoral research. He is currently involved in the MANCOOSI project, focusing on applying formal methods to complex problems in managing GNU/Linux distributions.
