Steinar Mediaas (December 2, 1946 – June 24, 2017) was a Norwegian journalist, editor, commentator, and program host. He joined NRK in 1973 and worked as a reporter and host for Dagsrevyen from 1974 to 1988. Following this, he served as the information director at Elkem and later as information chief at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1991 to 1994. Mediaas led the Økotrim program at NRK from 1996 to 2000 and he was an economics editor at NRK in 2006. He passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer.
