Stella Carr Ribeiro was a Brazilian writer born on February 4, 1932, in Rio de Janeiro and passed away in São Paulo in 2008. She moved to São Paulo at the age of four and studied various subjects including languages, literature, and anthropology. Ribeiro began writing for young readers in 1969 and published the prehistoric novel 'O homem do Sambaqui' in 1975. From 1977, she focused on a series of young adult mystery and suspense books. She was also an active poet and won the Jabuti Award in 1992 for 'Acordar ou Morrer'.
