Stella Heorhiivna Zakharova, born on July 12, 1963, is a retired Soviet gymnast known for her achievements in international competitions from 1977 to 1982. An Olympic and World Championship gold medalist in team events, she also won individual all-around titles at various competitions. Notably, she was the first woman to perform three double-back somersaults in her floor routine. Zakharova's outstanding performances peaked in 1979, and after retiring, she married Dynamo Kyiv football player Viktor Khlus. Ukraine honors her legacy with the annual Stella Zakharova Cup in gymnastics.
