Stepan Stepanovych Barna is a Ukrainian political activist born on October 9, 1979, in Zhyznomyr, Ternopil Oblast. He began his political career as an activist between 1999 and 2006, affiliated with various organizations including Our Ukraine. Barna served on the Ternopil Oblast council starting in 2006 and was a member of the Verkhovna Rada from 2014 to 2015 for the Petro Poroshenko Bloc. Subsequently, he was the Governor of Ternopil Oblast for four years. He also fought in the 68th Jager Brigade during the Russian invasion of Ukraine alongside his brother, who was killed in action.
