Stephan Nicolaus Glatzel is a German agronomist, geoecologist, and landscape ecologist born on December 14, 1966, in Überlingen. He serves as a university professor for geoecology at the University of Vienna. Glatzel habilitated in Geography at the University of Göttingen in 2004 and was a professor for landscape ecology and site science at the University of Rostock from 2006 to 2014. His research focuses on gas fluxes between ecosystems and the atmosphere, nutrient cycles in peatlands, forests, and agrarian systems, as well as soil geography.
