Stephen Blizzard was a Canadian physician and veteran, born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. He studied veterinary medicine at the University of Edinburgh and worked as a veterinarian in Trinidad before moving to Canada. Blizzard pursued a medical degree at the University of Western Ontario and became the first surgical resident at the National Defence Medical Centre. He achieved dual designation as a flight surgeon and a jet pilot, earning awards for his contributions to aviation safety and medicine, and was inducted into the International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine in 1992.
