Stephen Kipkorir was a Kenyan middle-distance runner born on October 24, 1970. He participated in his first athletics competition in March 1996 and won a bronze medal in the 1500 meters at the 1996 Summer Olympics five months later. Kipkorir finished his competitive career in 2001 and subsequently joined the military. Tragically, he died in a car accident on February 8, 2008.
