Steve Hylén, born August 17, 1947, in Stockholm, is a Swedish-American photographer and creator of the Hylén lens system. He is the son of photographer Åke Hylén and is the older half-brother of actress Katarina Ewerlöf. After moving to South Africa in the 1960s, he settled in the USA in 1979. Hylén developed a unique optical system with Panavision, which has been used in various American and British feature films, notably in 'Atonement'. He received a Technical Oscar in 2009 for this invention.
