He is a member of the Labour Party and has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Croydon North since winning the by-election in 2012. He was elected as the 55th MP, serving until 2015, and then as the 56th MP until 2017. Reed continues to represent the Labour and Co-operative Party in Parliament, with his most recent term starting in June 2017.
