Steven H.P. de Jong (1935-2018) was a Frisian writer and poet, notable for his extensive body of work. His most recognized piece is the novel 'De Wuttelhaven Del,' for which he won the Gysbert Japicx prize in 1992. In addition to writing in Frisian, he also composed works in Stedsk and translated Dutch literature into Frisian. De Jong lived in Gytsjerk for some time before moving to Burgum in 2008.
