He was the founder, CEO, president, and chairman of Towers Financial Corporation, a collection agency that later revealed itself to be a Ponzi scheme. Hoffenberg briefly owned the New York Post, a notable boulevard newspaper. He passed away before August 23, 2022, in Derby, Connecticut.
