He began his career in 1965 at Haagse Post before moving to Vrij Nederland in 1985. Raviez documented significant events, including the Gulf War and protests in Amsterdam. He won the Zilveren Camera award four times and published notable works including 'De beste mensenfotograaf die ik ken'. Later in life, he turned to writing literary thrillers and produced posthumous works that included a biography of his parents.
