Stoyan Gunchev is a former Bulgarian volleyball player and coach of the Women's National Volleyball Team of Bulgaria. Born on February 11, 1958, in Stamboliyski and raised in Yoakim Gruevo, he began his sports career in volleyball, training under notable coaches. He competed for the national team from 1978 to 1984 and won a silver medal at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. Gunchev played as a setter and was part of the Volleyball Club 'Lokomotiv'.
