Stuart Palmer FREng, also known as S. B. Palmer, is an eminent physicist and academic known for his contributions to condensed matter physics and engineering physics. He served as the deputy vice-chancellor at the University of Warwick from 1999 to 2009 and is currently an emeritus professor there. His research includes the application of ultrasound in monitoring osteoporosis and developing commercial ultrasound heel scanners. He has also discovered chirality magnetic domains in antiferromagnetic materials and has held various prominent roles in scientific organizations.
