Tan Sri Dr. S. Subramaniam is a Malaysian politician born on April 1, 1953. He held multiple ministerial positions, including Minister of Health and Minister of Human Resources. He was a Member of Parliament for Segamat from 2004 until 2018 and acted as the 9th President of the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC). During his tenure, he was one of the few ministers of Indian ethnicity in the government and successfully retained his federal seat in the challenging 2008 general elections. His contributions have been significant within the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition.
