Subramanian Arun Prasad is an Indian chess player born on April 21, 1988, in Salem, Tamil Nadu, who holds the title of Grandmaster. He won the Asian Chess Championship for players under 16 years in 2004 in Tehran, Iran, alongside Lee Kwang-lim. He received the FIDE Master title in 2004 and became a Grandmaster in 2008, making him the 18th Indian to achieve this. In 2009, he was the first Indian to win the Scotland Open Chess Championship in Edinburgh, and in 2010, he helped the Indian team win a bronze medal at the World Team Chess Championship in Bursa, Turkey.
