Sultana Yusuf (January 20, 1910 - 1995) was an Iraqi singer born into a Jewish family in Mosul. Known for her powerful and rich voice, she was distinguished from her contemporaries. Renowned composers like Saleh and Dawood Al-Kuwaiti crafted melodies for her. She aimed to elevate maqam music to high artistic proficiency and excelled particularly in the performance of the Buhayrzi maqam. Yusuf retired from music before turning 40 and appeared in the Egyptian film 'Nahr Al-Hob' in 1960. She reportedly turned to a life of worship after her retirement and passed away in 1995.
