He co-founded the literary magazine '獣園' in 1970 and joined '花曜' in 1971, studying under Rokurin Suzuki. He served as the long-term editor of '花曜.' Kubo has received several prestigious awards and has published numerous collections and essays, focusing on the life force hidden in language and displaying a strong internal tendency in his artistic style.
