Sun Zhengping, born on February 28, 1951, in Beijing, is a prominent sports broadcaster and commentator for China Central Television (CCTV). He began his broadcasting career after joining the workforce in 1968 and later studied at Shanxi University. Since joining CCTV in 1981, he has participated in numerous major international sports events, including five Olympics and five World Cups, earning the nickname 'Sun Kaibi' due to his frequent hosting of opening and closing ceremonies. He has also served as a senior announcer and department head at CCTV.
