Sundararajan Padmanabhan was a General in the Indian Army, born on December 5, 1940. After graduating from the National Defence Academy in 1956, he became an officer in the artillery branch three years later. He served as a Brigadier from 1988 to 1991 and commanded an infantry division from March 1991 to August 1992. Subsequently, he held the position of Chief Staff Officer of the 3rd Corps from September 1992 to June 1993, before being promoted to Lieutenant General and becoming the Commander of the 15th Corps.
