Sunday Emmanuel was a Nigerian athlete born on October 8, 1978, who specialized in sprinting events. He competed in the 100 meters at the 2000 Summer Olympics, reaching the semi-finals. Emmanuel was the runner-up in both the 100 m and 200 m at the 1995 African Junior Athletics Championships and won both events in 1997. He achieved notable personal bests of 10.06 for the 100 m and 20.45 for the 200 m. Sadly, he passed away in an auto-accident on January 15, 2004, in Kaduna, Nigeria.
