Suriani Abdullah, born Eng Ming Ching, was a Malaysian communist politician and writer, born on January 23, 1924, in Sitiawan, Perak. A member of the central committee of the Malaysian Communist Party, she authored '10th Regiment and Independence,' a historical account of the 10th Regiment of the Malayan People's Liberation Army, and her memoirs detailing her struggles. She joined the Communist Party in 1940 and became politically active in organizing women workers. Suriani lived in Sukhirin, Thailand, until her passing on March 20, 2013.
