Susan Athey is an American economist born on November 29, 1970. She holds the position of Professor of Technology Economics at Stanford Graduate School of Business. Previously, she was a professor at Harvard University. Athey is notable for being the first recipient of the John Bates Clark Medal. In addition to her academic roles, she serves as a consultant for Microsoft and is a research fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research.
