Dame Elizabeth Susan Cunliffe-Lister, known as Susan, served as the Lord Lieutenant of the East Riding of Yorkshire from 2005 to 2019. She was the President of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and founded the Great Yorkshire Show and the Sheep Fair in Masham. Currently, she manages gardens at Swinton Estate. Cunliffe-Lister has authored 'Days of Yore: A History of Masham' and was awarded Dame Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in 2019 for her service.
