Susan Michelle Rollin Torres was an American woman who garnered attention for giving birth to her daughter while being brain dead and on life support. After suffering a stroke caused by undiagnosed melanoma, she was declared brain dead at a Virginia hospital. Her husband chose to maintain her life support to save their 14-week-old fetus, which was born prematurely via C-section but sadly did not survive long after birth. Torres was removed from life support the day after her daughter's birth and passed away.
