Susana Wald, born Wald Zsuzsa on December 6, 1937, in Budapest, is a Hungarian-born plastic artist who later became a Chilean and Canadian national. She currently lives in San Andrés Huayapam, Oaxaca, Mexico, with her partner, poet Ludwig Zeller. They managed surrealist magazines and exhibitions in Chile, Canada, and Mexico during the 1960s and 1970s and participated in the Phases art movement. Wald has embraced surrealism as a way of life, producing art rooted in automatism, free association, and dream exploration while addressing themes of philosophy, ecology, psychology, and gender.
