Susumo Itimura was a Japanese-born Brazilian farmer and politician who was notable for being the oldest elected mayor in Brazil at the age of 90 during the 2008 municipal elections. Born on March 15, 1918, in Japan, he immigrated to Brazil in 1920 and settled in São Paulo. A prominent figure in Uraí, Paraná, he was known as the 'king of ramie' for his cultivation of the plant. Itimura served multiple terms as mayor of Uraí and faced controversies towards the end of his career, including a censure from the city council in 2011.
