Suune Tihane was an Estonian military officer and the former commander of the Tartu District of the Estonian Defense League. He became the commander in July 1996 following Aivo Kapten. Prior to this role, he led the North Tartumaa battalion. In June 1996, he was promoted to lieutenant. Tihane attended officer training courses in 1993, although he faced controversy when it was revealed he had falsified educational credentials, claiming to have completed high school in 1975, while he actually left in 1975 without graduating.
