Sylta Busse was a German costume designer born on July 7, 1906, in Westerland, Sylt. Initially working as a designer and bookbinder in Berlin, she faced political challenges and settled in the Soviet Union after marrying journalist János Reismann. From 1933 to 1938, she worked as a costume designer in Moscow and Kiev before moving to Paris. Interned in 1940, she created sketches in a detention camp. After the war, she became a costume designer in Stuttgart and collaborated with many prominent theater figures. Her artistic legacy is preserved in the Sylta-Busse-Archiv in Berlin.
