Szczepan Ścibior was a Polish soldier and pilot, born on December 13, 1903, in Uniejów, Poland. He served in the Polish September Campaign, later escaping to Great Britain. He joined the No. 305 Polish Bomber Squadron during World War II, flying Vickers Wellingtons. After being captured and imprisoned in a POW camp, he returned to Poland in 1946 to command an air force regiment and the Polish Air Force Academy. Wrongly accused of espionage, he was executed on August 7, 1952, in Warsaw. In 1956, he was posthumously rehabilitated.
