T. P. Chandrasekharan was an Indian politician and founder of the Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP), which split from the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He was born on 23 July 1960 in Onchiyam, Kerala. Chandrasekharan gained national attention after his assassination on 4 May 2012, for which the local organization of CPI(M) was widely blamed. His death significantly impacted the political landscape in Kerala.
