Tadeusz Kwaśniak, known as the Towel Strangler, was a Polish serial killer and paedophile active between April 1990 and April 1991. He was convicted of the rape and murder of five boys across various cities in Poland. Prior to these crimes, he had served 12 years in prison for sexual offenses against girls. His modus operandi involved tricking victims into allowing him into their homes, where he would strangle them with a towel. Kwaśniak was arrested on April 22, 1991, but committed suicide in prison on July 24, 1991.
