Taher Fakhruddin is the 2nd Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Qutbi Bohras, a Shia Islamic sect. He is the son of Khuzaima Qutbuddin, involved in the succession controversy of Dawoodi Bohra after the 52nd Da'i al-Mutlaq, Mohammed Burhanuddin, passed away. Following the controversy, two claimants surfaced: Mufaddal Saifuddin and Khuzaima Qutbuddin. While Khuzaima's followers recognize Taher as the rightful Da'i, Saifuddin's supporters do not. A significant decision by Taher was bringing his father's body to India for burial after Khuzaima's death in March 2016.
