Muhammad Tahir Panjpiri (1916-1987) was a prominent Islamic scholar in Pakistan recognized as Shaykh al-Quran for his expertise in Quranic studies. A significant figure of the Panjpiris faction within the Deobandi movement, he exerted influence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Afghanistan. After studying under Hussain Ali, he founded the Darul Quran Madrasa in Panjpir. Following Ali's leadership, he became the head of Jamiat Ashaatut Tawhid-wa-Sunnath, leading to his followers being known as 'Panjpiris.' His contributions greatly shaped the ideology of this group.
