He was a key member of the band Dreams Come True from 1988 to 2002, contributing to their success with eleven studio albums and thirty-three singles, nine of which reached #1 on the Oricon charts. After leaving the band, he faced legal issues due to drug possession but later opened a bar in Sapporo, hosting events related to Dreams Come True. He is also known by the nickname Nihya and has a sister, Ayumi, who is a model.
