Kazuya Takamitsu (January 4, 1907 - November 12, 1986) was a Japanese painter known for his contributions to Western-style art in Japan. He was born in Katatsu-mura, Ishikawa Prefecture. Takamitsu studied under Kenichi Nakamura and became an esteemed professor at Kanazawa College of Art and a member of various artistic organizations. He received prestigious awards including the Minister of Education Prize at the Nitten and the Art Academy Prize. Takamitsu was recognized as a Person of Cultural Merit and had a significant influence on the art community in Japan.
