Takamitsu studied under Kenichi Nakamura and became an esteemed professor at Kanazawa College of Art and a member of various artistic organizations. He received prestigious awards including the Minister of Education Prize at the Nitten and the Art Academy Prize. Takamitsu was recognized as a Person of Cultural Merit and had a significant influence on the art community in Japan.
