Takatoshi Imada (born April 6, 1948) is a Japanese sociologist and emeritus professor at Tokyo Institute of Technology. He was born in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, and established the Graduate School of Decision Science and Technology at his university. He received the Takamiya Prize from the Organization Studies Association in 1988, was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Purple Ribbon in 2008, and the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Silver and Gold Rays in 2021. Imada is known for his work on Niklas Luhmann's autopoiesis concept, interpreting it through the lens of self-organization.
