Takayama Shoichi (January 2, 1915 - March 5, 2017) was a Japanese naval officer, air self-defense officer, and aerospace engineer. He achieved the rank of Navy Technical Lieutenant Commander and Air Self-Defense Force General. Before World War II, he contributed to the assessment of the Zero fighter, design and prototype of the Galaxy, and development review of the Shidenkai. After the war, he worked at the Defense Agency, overseeing the development of Japan's first domestically produced jet, the T-1, and the selection and license production of the F-104J.
