Taku Chiba (December 12, 1959 - February 27, 2016) was a Japanese manga artist born in Ōta, Gunma Prefecture. He gained prominence through his works in Weekly Shōnen Jump, particularly with the manga 'Kick Off,' which ran for nearly two years starting from May 1982. After its completion, he created sports-themed manga such as 'No Side' and 'Rainbow Runner,' although these were short-lived. He later published 'Kick Off 2' in 'Comic Figure King' in December 1999. Chiba passed away due to renal pelvis cancer in 2016.
