Born on October 2, 1960, he gained recognition for performing theme songs for anime and tokusatsu series such as Choushinsei Flashman, My Neighbor Totoro, and Dash! Yonkurou. Kitahara started his music career at the age of 18 in 1978 by forming a band called Queen. Currently, he is part of the band RADIODRIVE, alongside Hironobu Kageyama, Osamu Katsumori, Eimaru Hiyoshi, and Hisashi Fujioka.
