Taner Yıldız is a Turkish politician born on April 3, 1962, in Yozgat. He is a member of the Justice and Development Party and served as the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources from 2009 to 2015. Yıldız graduated from Istanbul Technical University as an electrical engineer and was elected to parliament in 2002. He also served as the energy advisor to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Yıldız is married and has four children.
