Tanja Orning is a Norwegian cellist born in 1967. She received musical training at the Norwegian Academy of Music, and studied under William Pleeth in London and János Starker in the United States. After her education, she joined the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra as the principal cellist from 1994 to 2000. Subsequently, she embarked on a solo career, performing in various ensembles and producing solo work titled 'Cellotronics'. Orning collaborated with ensembles like the Christian Wallumrød Ensemble and worked with Norwegian composer Natasha Barrett on an album titled 'Dr. Ox'. She also played in the rock band Wunderkommer.
