Tarık Ziya Ekinci (1926-2024) was a Kurdish writer, physician, and political figure from Northern Kurdistan. He was involved with the Turkey Workers' Party and served as a member of the Turkish National Assembly between 1965 and 1969. Ekinci was known for his activism in human rights. His brother, Yusuf Akinci, was a victim of a terrorist act by the Turkish state in 1994, leaving a significant impact on his life. Tarık Ziya Ekinci passed away in Istanbul at the age of 99.
