Taro Tsujimoto is a fictional ice hockey player who was humorously drafted by the NHL's Buffalo Sabres in 1974 as the 183rd overall pick. The move was a prank by GM George Imlach due to frustrations with the slowly evolving phone draft process. Tsujimoto, a center from the Tokyo Katanas, became a popular joke among fans and staff, with requests for his presence in games and humorous banners. Although the NHL later marked the pick as invalid, Tsujimoto remains an amusing part of Sabres history.
